The Mom and Dads played a variety of styles, including polka, country, and easy listening music. They were known for their instrumental covers of popular songs, often featuring the accordion as the lead instrument. The band became very popular in Canada (and Australia!), where they had a number of hits, including “The Rangers Waltz” and “The Blue Canadian Rockies”.
In addition to their musical success, The Mom and Dads were also known for their wholesome image and family-friendly appeal. They often wore matching outfits on stage and were frequently accompanied by their children, who sometimes performed with them.
The Mom and Dads continued to perform and record music until the early 2000s. Harold Hendren passed away in 2008, but the other members of the band continued to perform as The Mom and Dads with various replacement musicians. Today, their music remains popular among fans of easy listening and traditional pop music.
