The Mr. Jack Daniel’s Original Silver Cornet Band plays in a recreation of a turn-of-the-century band concert. Great effort has been made to keep the show authentic to that time through costumes, songs, arrangements, the gazebo set, acoustic sound – everything.
“We have toured and performed in every corner of this country, making friends and converts to the mellow sounds of these archaic, conical horns – playing the music – popular, patriotic, sacred and secular – that our grandparents swayed to every Saturday evening around the gazebo bandstand. This silver-plated phenomenon is as much a part of our American tradition and heritage as Arbor Day. Fourth of July, or ‘dinner on the grounds.’ And now, inspired by the good folks who invited us to step out of our gazebo and have some fun in the Sacramento Traditional Jazz Festival, we have made this album: a silver cornet salute to New Orleans. No rationale, just music. We think you’ll enjoy it.”
