Caught in the Act – Frances Faye [CD]

$12.98

This compact disc version of Faye’s work was issued in 1991 and features two of Faye’s shows as recorded live at the Crescendo and the Phoenix. It combines the original two vinyl volumes from 1959 and 1963, with a nostalgic nod to the original art concepts.

Frances Faye is one of the most durable and beloved performers in the history of nightclubs and records. Not a glamour girl, the unpredictable Faye has nevertheless breathed excitement into her vocalistics ever since she made her first stage appearance in Brooklyn at the age of sixteen.

Fran, as most of her friends called her, is as much a comedienne as she is a singer. The self-abuse she heaps upon herself during a performance is top-drawer comedy, but the act can change pace as quickly as one of Faye’s moods. She will often tire of a particular song while on stage, which explains her sudden lapses into another tune. One set of Frances Faye might include portions from at least thirty songs.

This album is available on iTunes and Apple Music, as well as Spotify and many other streaming services.
