Prez Conference is an idea whose time has come - was, in fact, overdue.
It is an odd fact of musical life that jazz improvisation, acknowledged as the backbone of this idiom from the start, went undocumented for several decades before a few observers began to accept, and build on, the fact that an ad libbed solo by an eminent performer is itself a melody - more valuable, in many instances, than the theme on the whose chord progression the solo was improvised....
