Bebe Barron, a pioneering composer who started manipulating sounds after receiving a tape recorder as a wedding present and later scored the 1956 science-fiction film "Forbidden Planet," the first full-length feature to use only electronic music, has died. She was 82.

The Lady Behind the Laughs is the essential companion to the legacy of a remarkable artist, irresistible entertainer and genuine activist unlike any other, before or since.

This DVD, more than anything, is a career retrospective that includes a full concert performance (her final show) as well as a recent conversation with the lady herself. Part biopic, part concert, Rusty Warren: Knockers Up! The Lady Behind the Laughs is, in short, a downright sin-sational documentary experience that's long overdue and well worth the wait.
